Dale Raoul made it into Wilmywood over the weekend as she is back Under the Dome. After working through the weekend, the Domies are back on the sound stages this morning. Welcome back Dale!
Lots of stars were out and about in Wilmington this weekend. First, was the Secrets and Lies wrap party Saturday afternoon over at Satellite Lounge. Although they are done in Wilmington, they will be in Charlotte for two days this week.
Now, on to Red Zone! 1900 was the place to be! A private dinner was held for the director, James Foley, producers Nikki Toscano and Bill Johnson and some of the cast from Red Zone. Yes, they are all in town and we have the COMPLETE cast list. Find out who else was at the ritzy private dinner! READ MORE NOW Day one of production is today! Well, you know I have been bragging about our NC boy who wrote the book, The Returned. It was adapted into the television series Resurrection. Well, April and I just happened to run into him at a fundraiser Saturday night! Celebrity comic book artist Phil Jimenez was in town to help raise money for the Wilmington based non-profit, 
Animal Warriors. Mind blowing talent and a super nice guy! But who did we discover is a comic book fan? None other than author, Jason Mott. I really think I embarrassed myself, I totally freaked out and went all fangirl on him! Ha! But he agreed to come talk to us after he meets his deadline on his latest book, so I couldn’t have been that horrible. Or maybe this will be a pity interview! Either way, look forward to hearing him on The Sunny Morning Show on Sunny 104.5 in about two weeks!
While some have been here since last week, other crucial office staff members for the Nicholas Sparks flick The Longest Ride flew in over the weekend. Look for them to go into pre-production super soon!
And guess who else was sniffing around our hot town? My sources tell me the one and only Twilight director, Catherine Hardwicke. Yep, she’s got at least 5 projects brewing so who knows which one she’s scouting for.
Also, guess which production was brought up again? Loomis Fargo. I’ve got the scoop on that, too. Find out all the details in tomorrow’s blog! Damn, what a tease!
REMINDER: The Wilma W. Daniels Gallery (200 Hanover St.) is showcasing Under the Dome’s Jack Bender’s art NOW through the 29th of this month. Three of his pieces will be from Season One of Under the Dome. Think Pink Stars! We will also get a sneak peek at some of the beautiful pieces for the upcoming season. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday 12pm-5pm. However, a special night is reserved for you to mingle with the artist that is Jack Bender this Saturday, March 22nd from 6pm-9pm.

Congrats to Kim Dickens! This lovely southern girl has been seen on the big and small screen. You might have seen her as Janette Desautel on HBO’s TREME, as Joanie Stubbs in HBO’s DEADWOOD or as Colette Jane on FX’s SONS OF ANARCHY. In the movie world, she’s been in top notch flicks such as THE BLIND SIDE and coming this October she plays Detective Rhonda Boney in GONE GIRL. Welcome to Wilmywood Kim!

And the stars are already enjoying Wilmywood as RED ZONE held it’s first private cast dinner at 1900 Saturday night. The owner Ken Oliver and executive chef Kirsten Mitchell, along with the staff threw down an amazing menu of food and beverage.
Director James Foley along with Producers Nikki Toscano and Bill Johnson spent a fun evening meeting and greeting each other in Wilmywood. Some of the cast members enjoyed the evening as well. In attendance was Kevin Rahm, Samantha Mathis, Graham Rogers, Stefanie Scott and David Castro just to name a few. Our sources tell us the cast and producers (especially Nikki) completely fell in love with the place and the food. However, that is just another day for Ken Oliver: delicious perfection. Ken hosted the Tammy cast several times last year and they gushed over the food and atmosphere as well.
Today is officially day one of production. They will shooting in the Forest Hills area.

Samantha Mathis is returning to Wilmywood, but this time she won’t be Under the Dome. She joins the quickly assembled cast of REDZONE. Mathis will play Olivia Jordan. Great news for the Under the Dome cast and crew. They will be glad to see her again. This time around she is playing it straight as Kevin Rahm will play opposite Mathis as her husband, Paul Jordan.
Kevin Rahm has been on the small screen pretty much nonstop since 1995. He’s most well known for playing the character Lee McDermott on DESPARATE HOUSEWIVES and most recently as Ted Chaough on MAD MEN. But I still have a love for his time as Kyle McCarty on JUDGING AMY. Congrats Kevin! And Welcome to Wilmywood!
As reported earlier, we have our Revolution boy back, Graham Rogers. He will being playing Jake, the son of Olivia and Paul Jordan.

Box Office Mojo’s Ray Subers reveals the Top 10 Box Office Success Stories in 2013 as part on IMDb’s Year in Review. Three Wilmywood shot movies made that list which discusses over-performing blockbusters along with surprise hits:
#1 of course is Iron Man 3 – Ray says, “While Iron Man 3 was the top movie of the year at the domestic box office (over $409 million), the real upside was overseas, where its $806 million haul was more than double that of its predecessor. Worldwide, the movie’s $1.2 billion total ranks fifth all-time. ”
#6 We’re the Millers – Ray writes, “Benefiting from good scheduling and a strong premise, road trip comedy. We’re the Millers got off to a solid start in early August. The movie then held well thanks to strong word-of-mouth, and ultimately became the highest-grossing movie of August 2013. To date, it has earned over $150 million at the domestic box office. ”
Coming in right behind one of the best comedies of the year is The Conjuring at #7. This is definitely on the surprise list, surpassing all expectations. “The Conjuring wrapped up its domestic run with $137.4 million, which made it the top supernatural horror movie in over a decade. ”
The Cape Fear CW, WWAY’s new sister station, is hosting an open casting call for America’s Next Top Model THIS SUNDAY beginning at 10 a.m. at the Indigo Silver Studio, located at 5552 Carolina Beach Road. You must be between the ages of 18 and 27 at the time of application.

Thing went well as Faye’s Cafe yesterday. Now the Tammy cast and crew are about underway in White Lake giving some love to a local restaurant. Melissa McCarthy and Susan Sarandon continue their “road trip” and stop at Ski Burger.
Safe Haven scores some youthful nods as the movie shot in Southport receives three Teen Choice Awards nominations. Nicholas Sparks celebrated with a joyful tweet!

Under the Dome is getting a late start today. The cast and crew are back on N. 15th St again. There will be intermittent traffic control on N. 15th St. between Rankin and Grace from 10am all the way until 2am Friday morning.

Another day in Wrightsville Beach for the cast and crew of The Perfect Summer. Jason Castro had a great first day as the laid back surf shop owner yesterday. They will be back at it at the same location today, Aussie Island Surf Shop. Looks like we will see Jason Castro, Katie Garfield, JD Banks, Adam Horner and Justin Barnhill shooting. I am gonna try to stop by the set today and get some scoop for ya! Thanks to Gary Wheeler for the set pic!
A fun filled day for Tammy as well as they finally get off Nun St. and head to Castle Hayne. We will be seeing just Melissa McCarthy today with about 8 extras on hand. There will be a detour as a 1-mile section of Blue Clay Road will be closed to traffic from Old Mill Road to Holly Road today.

Super huge scene for Under the Dome as they are already rolling today at 5th and Castle. Huge stunts too! The scene involves a semi-truck crashing into a water tower. This had the talented set construction folks super busy all week, building the faux water tower. I was hoping for major explosions today, but I heard they are doing the visual fx in post (but maybe we will get lucky). But it will still be exciting because not only is it a crazy fun stunt filled day, but it will also be star-studded as well. Dean Norris, Rachelle LeFevre, Samantha Mathis, Natalie Martinez, Colin Ford – just about all the lead characters will be in this scene as well as a plethora of extras! Where will be tons of coverage, so they will be shooting until the sun goes down. This scene will affect traffic patterns as well so find an alternate route!
Doron Ofir Casting (the casting company for Jersey Shore), is casting a new reality show, American Proud – The Party is Down South. They are searching for the proudest Southerners who are at least 21 years old that are ready to show the world they’re country strong! “If you like your chicken fried, and you’re full of American pride, we are looking for you!” Local boy Mike Waggett is a recruiter for the company and is asking you to: “Git’er done and apply now!” Email a photo of yourself along with your contact info and tell him why you are “American Proud. ”
Fianlly, CONGRATS to Vanessa and Kim! NCasting got the gig! They will be casting Eastbound and Down Season 4. Look for opportunities to work on the HBO show soon!
