Melissa McCarthy Responds to Cruel Weight Comments

the_heat_melissa_mccarthey_photoshopRemember a few days ago when I posted this HORRIBLE Photoshop job for the movie poster of The Heat?  What was the point of taking about 30 lbs off Melissa McCarthy?  What is there to hide?  Everyone knows her size, and she loves herself the way she is, so what gives?

Well, she finally spoke about that and the hateful review from Rex Reed when Identity Thief came out and referred to her as, “cacophonous, tractor-sized Melissa McCarthy.”  Wow, can someone please bitch slap him?  But before you do, please throw the $171 million I.T. made at the worldwide box office in his face.  It’s one thing to not like a movie and give it a bad review, but it’s another when you throw in hateful, personal digs.

Her response is not surprising.  Again, this woman’s got class!  Read the article: http://popwatch.ew.com/2013/06/13/melissa-mccarthy-weight-rex-reed/

Another Star Rolls Into Wilmywood!

Danny McBride Rolls Into Town

Enemy Mig has pushed production of Eastbound and Down: Season 4.  Originally slated to begin filming around the 28th of this month, it looks as though they won’t start shooting until June 11th.  Even though production has been delayed, it didn’t stop the star of the show, Danny McBride, from coming to Wilmywood.  Yep, he’s here and apparently spent part of his weekend at the movie theaters, seeing the #1 movie at the box office, Star Trek into Darkness.

WHAT’S UP IN WILMYWOOD 05/14/2013 – New Reality Show, Perfect Summer, Tammy, Under the Dome, Sleepy Hollow

LISTEN TO PODCAST

Perfect_SummerAnother day in Wrightsville Beach for the cast and crew of The Perfect SummerJason Castro had a great first day as the laid back surf shop owner yesterday.  They will be back at it at the same location today, Aussie Island Surf Shop.  Looks like we will see Jason Castro,  Katie Garfield, JD Banks, Adam Horner and Justin Barnhill shooting.  I am gonna try to stop by the set today and get some scoop for ya!  Thanks to Gary Wheeler for the set pic!

A fun filled day for Tammy as well as they finally get off Nun St. and head to Castle Hayne.  We will be seeing just Melissa McCarthy today with about 8 extras on hand.  There will be a detour as  a 1-mile section of Blue Clay Road will be closed to traffic from Old Mill Road to Holly Road today.

Yesterday I posted the preview for Sleepy Hollow that was shot in the Charlotte area.  If you missed it, check it out now!

Super huge scene for Under the Dome as they are already rolling today at 5th and Castle.  Huge stunts too!  The scene involves a semi-truck crashing into a water tower.  This had the talented set construction folks super busy all week, building the faux water tower.  I was hoping for major explosions today, but I heard they are doing the visual fx in post (but maybe we will get lucky).  But it will still be exciting because not only is it a crazy fun stunt filled day, but it will also be star-studded as well.  Dean Norris, Rachelle LeFevre, Samantha Mathis, Natalie Martinez, Colin Ford – just about all the lead characters will be in this scene as well as a plethora of extras!  Where will be tons of coverage, so they will be shooting until the sun goes down.  This scene will affect traffic patterns as well so find an alternate route!

Doron Ofir Casting (the casting company for Jersey Shore), is casting a new reality show, American Proud – The Party is Down South.  They are searching for the proudest Southerners who are at least 21 years old that are ready to show the world they’re country strong! “If you like your chicken fried, and you’re full of American pride, we are looking for you!”  Local boy Mike Waggett is a recruiter for the company and is asking you to: “Git’er done and apply now!” Email a photo of yourself along with your contact info and tell him why you are “American Proud. ”

Fianlly, CONGRATS to Vanessa and Kim!  NCasting got the gig!  They will be casting Eastbound and Down Season 4.  Look for opportunities to work on the HBO show soon!

That just about does it for me; I will have more Wilmywood updates for you tomorrow morning and every morning (Monday-Friday) at 8:30am on Sunny 104.5.  Got Scoop?  email me: sheila@1045sunnyfm.com.  Until then, that’s a wrap!

Okay gotta start with some exciting news!  Bolden! is coming back to Wilmington to shoot additional scenes in July!  It’s the film that never ends!  But we are so grateful to these guys.  Why?  Many reasons.  First, they spent over $120 MILLION locally, making it one of the most expensive independent films ever made.  Second, Bolden! was shooting here when we really needed commerce to flow.  They helped keep lumber and paint stores afloat after the housing bubble burst when they originally filmed here the first time!  Wilmington is so grateful for this production.  This will be the third time Bolden! will set up offices in Wilmington.

On late night TV, check out our hot actors from the past and present.

On Jimmy Kimmel tonight, Revolution fans will be staying up late to watch Giancarlo Esposito.  And we will go back in time and reminisce about those Dawson’s Creek days as Chelsea Lately has Busy Philipps.  Okay so she’s moved on to Cougar Town, but hey, we knew her when…

Now let’s get back Under the Dome.  The rain washed out yesterday’s shoot, so cast and crew head back to Wallace Park and Chestnut St.

That just about does it for me; I will have more Wilmywood updates for you tomorrow and every morning (Monday-Friday) at 8:30am.  Post your comments, thoughts, suggestions and Thai recipes below! Until then, that’s a wrap!
