WHAT’S UP IN WILMYWOOD 07/30/2013 UTD Season 2, Eastbound, Sleepy Hollow and more!

Of course on Dome Day, Under the Dome “official” notice of a season 2 came out via CBS: “UNDER THE DOME” RENEWED FOR SUMMER 2014 – Television’s #1 Summer Series to Return with 13 New Episodes.”

And yes what we’ve been buzzing about for months now, Stephen King will finally get what he’s been wanting: to write the Premiere Episode for Season 2.

“We’re excited to tell more stories about the mystery of the dome and the secrets in Chester’s Mill, and are thrilled to have the master storyteller himself, Stephen King, tell the first one of next season,” said CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler.

And you can bet he will be here for that entire episode.  Earlier it was reported the UTD crew would be getting everything back in order here in October. But another source said they would run the same schedule as season one, coming back in February 2014.  Well, a girl can dream, right?  I mean, can you imagine having Stephen King here for Halloween?!

Another great episode last night.  Man, every week, the show gets better and better!  I have to remind myself to breathe when they break for commercials!  We will see what the critics had to say about it later today, and of course we are waiting for those Nielsen ratings.  I will get them to you this afternoon!  The UTD folks filmed into the overnight just beyond the back lot, some LIVE tweeting from the set!  Looks like they will get a late start for the second to last day filming, the folks return to the Ideal cement Factory, possibly on stage again, too.

Danny McBrideDanny McBride and his Eastbound and Down posse head downtown today shooting at the fantastic Manna restaurant downtown as well as the Wilmington Convention Center.  They have over 100 extras on hand today…I smell fun!  Oh, and a quick trip tot he rumor mill.  Regardless of this being the “last season,”  a source told me talk was heard about HBO really liking what they have seen so far, and it might not be a final season after all.  But that is definitely just rumor!  Danny and Jody Hill are busy enough with another HBO show plus, Loomis Fargo, but you never know!

sleepyhollowDon’t forget to VOTE for Wilmington to get an early screening of FOX’s Sleepy Hollow!  The folks are back in New Bern shooting episode 2.

Check out Wilm on Film’s blog about Sleepy Hollow shooting in Havlock yesterday at the Sherwood Motel.  Great story Drew!

That just about does it for me; I will have more Wilmywood updates for you Monday morning and every weekday morning at 7:30am & 8:30am LIVE on Sunny 104.5.  Got Scoop?  Email me: sheila@1045sunnyfm.com.  Or message me on Wilmywood’s FB .  Or just post your comments below!  Until then, that’s a wrap!

07/29/2013 Eastbound, Sleepy Hollow, The Conjuring

Over the weekend, The Conjuring (even though it wasn’t first place thanks to The Wolverine), still held strong and earned $22.1 million.  Box Office Mojo predicts it to hit over $100 million by next weekend.

The Star News was throwing out all the hot news over the weekend.  First let’s start off with Eastbound and Down. Jeff Hidek reports HBO president Michael Lombardo offered up a bit of a tease about the future of Kenny Powers.   “You’ll find Kenny struggling with marriage, suburbia and his continued demons.”  Love me some Jeff!  Read his full blog –   If you subscribe to the Star News anyway.  Season Four airs on HBO September 29th.    The gang will be shooting at Independence Mall today.  MikeSpencer took some great pics from the 26th at Maides Park.  Check ’em out!

Production began over the weekend for Sleepy Hollow in New Bern.  Today they begin having a little fun at Tryon Palace also in New Bern.  The Star News reports, “Scenes for “Sleepy Hollow” that are being filmed at the Palace will primarily take place in the eastern courtyard — between the outer and inner gates — and the smokehouse, located just behind the Kitchen Office.”  See the entire article if you subscribe to the Star News Now.  They will continue to film in New Bern for the next few days before they return to Wilmington.

Although the Wrap party was this weekend, Under the Dome has only a few days left until they leave us for a few months!  They are back at the stage and a 2nd Unit is heading to the Ideal Cement Factory today.  Oh, and did I mention, it’s DOME DAY!  Woo Hoo!  Yes! I am so saving the best for last.  Episode 6 is on tonight baby!  10pm EST on CBS!  And of course, Hell’s Kitchen is the official viewing party headquarters, so if you head downtown, it’s the place to be!

WHAT’S UP IN WILMINGTON 07/26/2013 – UTD Season 2, Danny McBride on fire! Plus, cool set construction!

Hallmark is having super fun set!   Christmas in Conway, that begins shooting next week, is constructing a 50 ft. Ferris wheel.  It will be  erected at a home on Forest Hills Drive.  I also heard there will be some cool stunts utilizing the mechanical beast as well.

The Eastbound and Down folks are shooting at Maides Park, on Manly Ave today.  It looks at though Danny and Jody have been very busy this year.  Earlier this week,  I reported that the writing duo have written Loomis Fargo which is shooting in North Carolina later this year.  But that’s not the only thing happening with these talented guys. Danny McBride and Jody Hill are working on a new  1/2 hour comedy revolving around high school, While at the Television Critics Association Press Tour in  Beverly Hills yesterday, Michael Lombardo, president, HBO  programming, said,  “They’re  taking a look at high school life — its a really great, funny,  quintessentially Danny and Jody idea.”

Don’t forget you can vote once a day to bring an early screening of Sleepy Hollow to Wilmington.  We could use about 100 votes today to stay ahead of the game and ensure a top3 spot.  So get on it NOW and vote!

If you missed it back in June, Dean Norris will be on a repeat of Jimmy Kimmel tonight.  He will also be on ABC’s The View this Wednesday.

Now, onto the Rumor Mill!  Under the Dome is wrapping by this coming Wednesday.  And no official word has been flung to the press as of yet about Season two, but we all know, including the media the a second season is inevitable.  Well, I can tell you that yes there will be a season two and they are looking at starting back up in October.

I also heard that rumors were floating about there being 16 episodes this time around.  Even though they will continue shooting the final episode of season one until this coming Wednesday, their wrap party is tomorrow night downtown.  I bet the big announcement to the cast and crew will happen there!  The UTD folks will be in Burgaw this afternoon and overnight until sunrise!

WHAT’S UP IN WILMYWOOD 07/25/2013 Bolden!, Sleepy Hollow and More

More is coming out about Bolden!  Yesterday, I reported that Anthony Mackie is out and Buddy Bolden will be recast.  This of course will call for re-shoots.  Now my sources are telling me it will be way beyond re-shoots.  It’s looking like the entire film will be re-shot. That means going back to Louisiana to shoot some parts of the film as well.  Millions more will be spent to complete this film, but apparently it hasn’t stopped them from spending even when they are in a holding pattern.   While they have been waiting, their stuff has been in storage.  A source tells me it is costing them about $10,000 a month to store everything.   They also haven’t decided if the next go around will be shot on film or digital.

Wilmington, NC is the top 3 cities who have the chance for an early screening of Sleepy Hollow, but we need about 100 more votes today to secure our spot!  You can vote once a day, so please do it, it takes about 60 seconds!! DEMAND an early screening of the locally filmed Sleepy Hollow in Wilmington NOW

Another round of casting calls for the New Bern area for the modern day parts of Sleepy Hollow for Monday, July 29th.  Find out all the details now!

The Eastbound and Down folks return to Tabor Lane today.  The folks who reside Under The Dome head to Southport.  They will head to the 100 block of East Bay Street midday, then they will be at Trinity United Methodist Church on East Nash Street for the rest of the day.

That just about does it for me; I will have more Wilmywood updates for you tomorrow morning and every weekday morning at 7:30am & 8:30am LIVE on Sunny 104.5.  Got Scoop?  Email me: sheila@1045sunnyfm.com.  Or message me on Wilmywood’s FB .  Or just post your comments below!  Until then, that’s a wrap!

For all Wilmywood, Film NC and Dome Fan Gear.  We got it in the Wilmywood Shop!

WHAT’S UP IN WILMYWOOD 07/24/2013 – Bolden! Sharknado 2 and more!

The final numbers are in for Blue on Blue, which was episode 5 of Under the Dome.  There were no adjustments made after the overnight number came in.  Viewership was up by 4% from last week with 11.6 million people glued to their seats.  The gang is back on the stage today at Screen Gems.

We could get an early screening of Fox’s Sleepy Hollow, but it all depends on you voting!  Yesterday we were in 7th place, now we are in the top 3.  We are competing with large markets with millions of people so every vote counts!  Please DEMAND it now!

Danny McBride and the gang with Eastbound and Down will have two units running today, one at Tabor Lane, the other at the Independence Mall.  And congrats by the way Danny.  We just found out this morning that Danny will join Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, and Reese Witherspoon in Cameron Crowe’s next flick.  Which one?  Well, no one’s quite sure right now, as Joey Magidson reported, “it’s supposedly a reworking of a previous romantic comedy script he abandoned a few years back called Deep Tiki. It remains to be seen if it’s exactly that project or something new.”

Now onto fun!  Love the rumors!  They are swirling like crazy!

Yesterday I reported The Best of Me, Nicholas Sparks’ latest adaptation for film had their folks talking to department heads trying to get their crew in place.  It was also said that they really wanna get this film in the can by the end of the year.  So, it looks like this will be a go!

Also said to be a go is Bolden!  Yep third time a charm, they’re baaack!  Or they will be.  The word is Bolden! will start building sets in September begin filming again in January.   Other rumors are flying about them rebuilding at a different location as the sound stages might not be available for them as space is getting hard to find as Wilmywood is getting mighty popular.  My sources are also saying that there are rumors about Anthony Mackie‘s role getting recast.  The lead, the name within the title – Buddy Bolden.  No word on why, but I will get that info to you when I find out.  Wow, that’s a lot of re-shoots!  They’ve spent an ungodly amount of money making this independent flick, so they need to finish to get some kind of return on their investment here!

And finally, the Syfy flick Sharknado fueled  an unprecedented social media buzz, the movie was the #1 most tweeted program on cable.  The folks who brought you this goodness were actually here not long ago filming American Warships starring Mario Van Peeples and Carl Weathers.  Well, folks from The Asylum kinda liked it here.  So much that a buzz was in the air all day yesterday about them scouting here for Sharknado 2!  How fun would that be!!

More details to come, I will update you as soon as I find out more!

BREAKING: Under the Dome numbers are up!!

Under the Dome numbers are up!!

Vulture.com’s Joe Adalian just announced:

UNDER THE DOME ticks UP to a 2.8 A18-49. Surprised if S2 announcement doesn’t come at Eye’s TCA session next week, if not earlier.

TV by the numbers is reporting with their overnight numbers that Under the Dome carried 11.37 million viewers with a 2.8 this week (up 4 percent from last week’s 2.7).  (Source: The Nielsen Company) Even the new little prince couldn’t outshine the Domies.  It was quite clear who was king of the night! We will find out if indeed the numbers adjust up later today for E5: Blue on Blue!

Will post more on this blog when info streams in!

BREAKING: Greenlight for Nicholas Sparks flick in Wilmywood!

That’s what my sources are telling me!  The next Nicholas Sparks movie is getting in gear to shoot in Wilmywood. The Best of Me is about a pair of former high school sweethearts who reunite after many years when they return to visit their small hometown.

They are telling me it’s not an “if” but a “when” they are coming.  However, they have also said they wanna have this sweet story in the can by the end of the year, so it has to be soon.  Plus, sources are saying they have already begun contacting department heads to see what crew is available.  The romantic tale is being produced by Sparks as well as the AWESOME Denise DiNovi.  Last heard, Michael Hoffman was in talks to direct.  We don’t know who is starring in it yet, but I will get you that scoop ASAP.

WHAT’S UP IN WILMYWOOD 07/23/2013, UTD, EBD, SH and more from the rumor mill!

It’s numbers day once again for Under the Dome.  We will find out the overnight ratings by 11 or 11:30am EST.  I, of course, will post them along with reviews and thoughts from the press and critics as well in a separate blog later today.  And I will keep you posted about Season 2.  Word is the crew will find out this week if they return to work and when!  The UTD folks are shooting the final episode this week.  They film on the lot for the day on Sound Stages 7 & 8.

YES!  Wilmington is in the TOP 7!  Yesterday we weren’t even on the radar.  BUT we need to be in the top 3!  DEMAND an early screening on the locally filmed Sleepy Hollow.  Sleepy Hollow will kick off the episode two shoot this weekend in New Bern.

Eastbound and Down is back to Jellybeans today with about 50 extras skatin’ around having fun.

The Hallmark TV Movie Christmas in Conway is looking for a photo double for  for this lovely and talented actress, Mary Louise Parker. You must have the same coloring and measurements and be available the month of August. She is 5’8 ” and weighs 120lbs.Her measurements are 34/24/33.  Please send a recent photo (head and bodyshot) to wimingtonbackground@gmail.com include your sizes and contact info. Please put MLP photodbl in subject.

THE RUMOR MILL

WECT brought the Angelina Jolie movie, Unbroken up again.  Although, I reported this movie’s interest in Wilmington about two months ago, they have added that Jack O’Connell will play Louis Zamperini, the Olympian turned POW.  My sources tell me that they REALLY like Hawaii, but hopefully they will see that North Carolina has way more to offer and is more cost effective!  Thanks for reporting this Ashlea!

And speaking of maybes remember when I brought up Loomis Fargo months ago! What light can we shed on bank heist movie?  The Jim Carrey flick (that has been in “pre-production”) for months now supposedly here in Wilmywood has attached another actor to its roster.  Looks like Owen Wilson will join in on the bank robbing in this comedy flick.  On a sidenote, Danny McBride and Jody Hill are two of the writers on this movie.  I’m thinkin’ a rollover here!  Just stay here and keep filming! Eastbound Film Crew can roll over as well!  My sources are telling me they have been some verbals hires, but I cannot confirm that.  Yet anyway!  Hopefully that is their plan with Relativity Media!
