THE WILMYWOOD DAILY – 10/30/2013 – NC is Top 10 Film Location Worldwide, 13 Scary Wilmywood Flicks
More awareness for NC Film came out last week with North Carolina making the top ten list of filming locations WORLDWIDE in an article written by P3update.com. Thanks to WECT to finding this gem of a list. We came in at #9, just ahead of the UK. In the article, they wrote:
North Carolina’s 25-percent refundable tax credit program recently remained safe from a far-reaching rewrite of the current tax code. As the program stands, the state continues to attract popular television productions, like “Revolution,” “Under the Dome” and “Homeland,” and feature films like Iron Man 3, We’re the Millers, and Safe Haven. Filmmakers can find a variety of studio options in North Carolina to suit most production needs. The Wilmington-based EUE/Screen Gems is one of the country’s largest studio complexes with 10 stages, while Charlotte, Asheville, Raleigh and areas surrounding Greensboro and Winston-Salem also offer soundstage options for visiting filmmakers.

THE WILMYWOOD DAILY 10/28/2013 – UTD, Sleepy Hollow, Hank and Jed
Another NC Film success! Our North Carolina shot Jackass comedy, Bad Grandpa took the #1 spot at the box office raking in a sweet $32 million.
Another Monday comes with NO Sleepy Hollow. It is truly grueling. But I guess it’s nice to know everything will be right as rain in 7 days time. When we return we will meet the Sin Eater ft. John Noble!
But we need to get used to inconsistencies because the season finale will not be at its regular time either. FOX announced the date for the finale which will be on Monday, Jan. 20, 2014 at 8:00 p.m.
The UTD cast and crew enjoyed the weekend across the pond at the London Comic Con. Most of the cast are still there enjoying themselves. Missing Under the Dome? How about reliving some bits. Just in time for Halloween, here are UTD’s 13 creepiest moments.
Our local boys from Hank and Jed Movie Pictures (creators of Battlefield Friends) will be at Game Stop in Monkey Junction in Wilmington, NC tonight to help celebrate the release of Battlefield 4. Plus they are giving away an autographed DICE/BF4 T-shirt while they are there. The Prod Co was contracted by EA Games to do a “briefing” about BF4. Check it out.
They will also be doing to LIVE radio interviews today taking phone calls from fans of the show. Modern Rock 98.7 (1pm EST) and Z1075 (1:30pm EST). You can listen live, just click on the radio station web sites.

THE WILMYWOOD DAILY – 10/25/2013 EA Games hires local Prod Co Hank and Jed, Under the Dome, Weekend Highlights

Our local boys, Hank and Jed Movie Pictures, were hired by EA Games to produce a video that airs this Sunday on Machinima’s Happy Hour Channel as the gaming world gears up for the release of Battlefield 4. So how did that coolness happen? Their show Battlefield Friends (BFFs) has completed three seasons, working with the 
Machinima Network, one of You Tube‘s largest distributors and most subscribed channels. The Battlefield gaming community quickly caught on and fell in love with the show even catching the eye of game creator DICE as well as its parent company EA Games. Within the past two years Hank and Jed has developed a relationship with the company and due to the BFF’s millions of views, working together within the social media realm was a win-win for all. Hank and Jed are also the creators of the medieval comedy Doraleous and Associates, and Minecraft related Mob Squad. Current projects include the next season of Doraleous as well as Season 4 of Battlefield Friends, Battleloggers, Game Idiot and more. FYI: Hank and Jed will be special guests at Game Stop in Monkey Junction in Wilmington, NC Monday night for the release of BF4. I believe they will be showing their series during the release party. You will also have a chance to win an autographed BF4 T-shirt from the folks at DICE. LIKE the BFFs on Facebook now to stay in the loop!
Under the Dome folks have been in London all week as they get ready for the London Comic Con. They attend tomorrow.

THE WILMYWOOD DAILY – 10/24/2013 NC flick in theaters tomorrow, Well Wishes, Vote for our NC productions
A North Carolina shot comedy is in theaters tomorrow! Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa. The storyline involves a bad grandpa who takes a cross-country trip with his young grandson. You don’t really see it here, but the trailer you see in theaters has a ton of North Carolina beauty including the Charlotte, Gastonia and Belmont areas. One restaurant in particular was The Penguin restaurant in Charlotte. The flick stars Johnny Knoxville, Jackson Nicoll and Georgina Cates.
Well Wishes, an independent feature, written and directed by UNCSA grad, Drew Boyd, is back in Wilmington again today. Yesterday they were at Airlie Gardens. They are moving just down the road to the beach. Wrightsville Beach access 1 beginning this morning. The movie stars our local boys Cullen Moss, Shane Callahan , with Don Baker and Anna Stromberg in major supporting roles. Tons of other Wilmington talent involved too!

And speaking of Cullen Moss, our Wilmington-based actor has been killing it lately! We just saw him do a hilarious scene in Eastbound and Down with Danny McBride in the season premiere, and now you can see him on the big screen during Cucalorus in The Heroes of Arvine Place (written and directed by Wilmington legend, Damian Lahey). It was in the Williamsburg International Film Festival in New York where it won Best Film, Best Director, and Best Actor! So give some love to Cullen for killing it and living the dream!!

THE WILMYWOOD DAILY – 10/23/2013 Homeland’s pick up, Pieces of Talent, The Squeeze
Homeland has picked up a 4th season. Looks like we will have 12 new one hour episodes, regardless of fears that the current season has lost the plot line. But that wasn’t enough to stop Showtime from placing its order because they were more focused on the big numbers Homeland is bringing in for the premium channel – an impressive 6.5 million viewers a week – 26% jump from last year.
Dunno what’s going to happen weather wise today with The Squeeze. We have 30mph wind gusts that the sound guys will not love, plus chances of rain. If they do go through with it, they will be at the Wilmington Municipal Golf Course.
Saturday will be a great day. A Sleepy Hollow Marathon will air on FX (not FOX) beginning at 1pm EST. The local boys of C/G Productions are looking to cast several African American models (youth to adult) for an upcoming print ad on November 6th and November 7th in Wilmington. This is a paid job (but don’t know what the pay is) and you must submit by Monday.
